Screw it; I’m done.

I can’t tell you the number of times those words (pretty much verbatim!) have run through my head during a project, during a long, bad day at work. And I’m sure I’m not alone.

I’m going to let you in on a little secret: Sometimes, things suck. Sometimes, nothing goes right. Sometimes, it seems as if the world is specially designed to make us, specifically, fail.

That’s when it’s time to step back, take a deep breath, and listen to some of the best advice modern cinema has to offer: “Never give up! Never surrender!”

After all, if you give up and throw in the towel, you’ll never get there, right? And you’ll never know how close you were until later. Maybe success was right around that last corner…

Michael Hyatt has a poetic take on the same topic: Whatever You Do, Don’t Quit.
